Source 1: I chose this interview to use in my blog because
it was the most inspirational thing I’ve ever read about Tech. In this
interview, Tech goes into deep detail about all of his albums, his life and
what he is about. It showed me that he isn’t just a musician; he’s a regular
person with a mission and hard life. There are way more than just the beats of
the music. His lyrics actually have a meaning behind them, which is a lot more
than I can say about other artists. I took an excerpt from this text when he
was talking about the making of the album K.O.D., which I though would be a
very useful source because that was my exact topic today.
Source 2: I used the album in the first couple sentences of
my post to describe how Tech went all out to make this album. The colors of the
cover give off a demonic tone when viewed. He wanted his listeners to feel the
way I did about it. The symbolism on the front cover is to warn people of what
lies beneath the music, the deeper meaning. Tech wanted this album to be his
darkest and hardest album yet, and I believe that he achieved his goal. I felt
the cover was useful to my topic because it helped me give my reader my
opinions on how I felt when I first saw the album.

Source 3: The last thing I used when writing this post was a
little bit of background knowledge on Tech career. After reading this
interview, I understand tech’s goals in life, how he lives and how he works.
This interview is one of the most crucial to understanding what it truly means
to be Tech N9ne. I felt that by knowing what is going on in his life, I would
have more to talk about in the post. This proved to be true because I was able
to elaborate on where he wants his career to go which aided my topic very well
in the direction it was going.
Post 2:
Source 1: Album, Sickology 101.
This source
was my main reason for writing this posting. When I sat down to think of a
topic to talk about, I merely sat down and turned this CD on, I let the rest
just happen. This CD is one of Tech’s best works, like I mention in the
article. In my post, I am talking about Tech’s career; this album was made to
forewarn other rappers of what is to come from Tech N9ne in future years. I
would consider this album to be my main source for this post because it is the
main reason I talked about Tech’s career in the way’s I did. At one point, I
quote the opening line to Sickology 101.

My second
source of information for this post came from, Tech N9ne’s interview he did
with hip/hop dx online. This interview is probably the most influential thing
that I have ever read about Tech. This article put me into my place. I say that
I knew who Tech N9ne was before this interview, but I didn’t. It opened my eyes
to his career and how he feels about things. When I talk about Tech wanting
total hip/hop domination, this is my main source. It showed me what it is like
to be Tech and all of the issues he has to go through on a regular basis. This
interview will show up in a lot more posts, that will come later.
Source 3: The album, “All 6’s and 7’s”
This final
source was not as influential as the first two but, it still brought me to say
what I said in the post. I reference Technicians at the end of the post. A
technician is someone who can consider himself or herself a true Tech N9ne fan.
He/she follows Tech’s rules and mainly listens to all of his music and
understands the meaning behind the lyrics. If the world were to be overrun with
these people, it might just be a better place. While writing, I turned this
album on to give me inspiration of what to write and it lead me to where I am
now.
Post 3:
Source 1: The album, K.O.D., by Tech N9ne
I used this source because I feel that this album is one of
Tech N9nes most important albums. It is by far his darkest album and shows
everyone how truly evil Tech can really be. This album was made in anger by
Tech after his mother was diagnosed with pancreatitis and put into an asylum. I
have used this source in multiple entries so far. I plan to use it in many
more, also. Like I already mentioned, this album marks the darkest point in
Tech N9nes career. In the article, I explain how Tech is not afraid to be
himself and say what he wants in his albums. This album is exactly that, the
first song calls out everybody, questioning the fact if there is a god or not.
Source 2: The above has been taken from the website:
This article has
been one of the most influential articles that I have read about Tech N9ne. It
goes deep and uncovers what Tech really means by his songs and his reasons for
doing things the way he does. I have used this article multiple times so far
because I feel that it is very useful, and helpful to my readers, in showing
people what Aaron Yates is truly like. It covers a vast topic of material that
I can’t fit into one post, so instead I have been talking around my subject. I
am slowly leading my readers in and grabbing their interests. Soon I will
unleash some shocking truths about Tech N9ne that some people won’t be able to
handle. This article taught me a lot of what I base my facts on, when posting.
Source 3: Tech
N9ne’s album, Anghellic
I chose this
album to use as a source because this is what I was listening to when I wrote
the article. This album could be considered a mix between good and evil. In it,
Tech is basically portrayed as angelic. However, as you listen to the lyrics,
you begin to realize that there is something a little more dark going on here.
Tech’s demons are revealed in this album and fully noticeable in K.O.D. This
album was the basis for what I said in the article, it shows how there is a
visibly evil side to Tech and I plan on exposing this part of his life in my
next posting.
Post 4:
Source 1: The song “Pain Killer”, by Tech N9ne
This song is off the album, “The Lost Scripts of K.O.D.” by
Tech N9ne. The original K.O.D. album was one of Tech N9nes hottest sellers; his
fans seemed to eat this album up in stores. “The Lost Scripts of K.O.D.” was
put out to follow up on the album “K.O.D.” It contains some of the darker songs
Tech wrote when writing the K.O.D. tracks. The song “Pain Killer” is the song I
chose to use in this post. It talks about how Tech N9ne continually covers up
his problems with drugs, which is what I talk about in the post.
Source 2: The song “My Wife, My Bitch, My Girl”, by Tech
N9ne
This song is off the album, “Everready (The Religion)” by
Tech N9ne. This song illustrates, through a brief sketch at the beginning of the
song, how Tech N9ne cannot hold a steady relationship with a woman. He talks
about how his wife hates him for cheating, his ‘bitch’ doesn’t care about him
at all and just wants sex, and also how his girl would stab him if given the
chance. Tech N9ne continually cheats on these women and this song gives us a
taste of how this subject affects him and his career. This song illustrates
Tech’s troubles with women, which is one of the topics I hit on in this post.
Source 3: The song “Am I a Psycho”, by Tech N9ne
This final source is from the album, “All 6’s and 7’s” by
Tech N9ne. This is one of the first songs on the album, meaning that Tech
starts this album by asking his listeners if he is a psycho. In the mind of
Aaron Yates, he believes he is crazy for the way he lives life; yet, he loves
the way he lives so he has no need to change his ways. This song gives
listeners a look inside the thoughts of Mr. Yates, illustrating the dark
aspects of his life which makes him believe he is actually psycho when compared
to others. This song helped me to exemplify my topic in my post, giving me a
vivid example to provide for my viewers.
Post 5:
Source 1: The album, “Everready (The Religion) by Tech N9ne
Like I
mentioned in the post, this is the CD that made me start listening to Tech in
the first place. It could be considered a turning point in my life because my
view on life changed completely after becoming a Tech fan. I chose this CD as a
source for my post because after listening to it again and having a great
weekend because of it, I was inspired to tell my followers about it. I used a
quote from the songs, “Bout ta Bubble” and “Enter Everready”. These songs
helped me explain how Tech inspired me to live my life the way I do.
Source 2: The song, “Cult Leader” by Tech N9ne
This song
explains how some people believe Tech and his ways resemble that of a Cult
Leader like Jim Jones and others. He starts the song off with a recording of an
interview where he talked about this. He says, “Those were not people that were
for the greater good. If they think I’m gonna give my fans electric kool-aid,
they got me fucked up.” This song helped me explain my point that Tech fans are
considered to be in a cult for listening to Tech’s preaching’s and applying his
values to their everyday lives. It also helped me explain how Tech is a good
person and has good morals, which are for the greater good. His lyrics actually
make sense if you listen and can comprehend what he is actually trying to say.
I chose this article again because it has been the most
influential interview on my opinions of Tech. It shows us that Tech is all
about total hip-hop domination, which I talked about in my post. This interview
highlights Techs thoughts on his career so far. He tells us that he has been
shooting for the top since the beginning and that he won’t stop until he
achieves “God status.” All Tech fans should read this interview because it will
help you get into Techs head and help you understand what he is saying in his
music. I feel that this interview is deserving of being used as a source for my
blog posts because it is very influential to my subject.
Post 6:
Source 1: The album; “All 6’s and 7’s” by Tech N9ne
Once again,
I use this album to elaborate on another aspect of Aaron Yates’s personality. I
continue to use this album because it is one of Tech’s most popular and
influential albums. The title, “All 6’s and 7’s”, refers to his music; Aaron is
always talking about how 6 is evil and 7’s are godly; this is where the title
“Anghellic” came from too. The album contains songs that he considers “evil”
and “angelic”. I used three songs from this album to explain my point of how
Aaron Yates has a sex addiction and it influences his music in a drastic way.
Source 2: The album, “K.O.D.” by Tech N9ne
This is
another source, which I continue to re-use multiple times throughout my posts.
This is the album that draws his fans in to truly listening to the message he
is trying to get across. It is Tech N9ne’s darkest album by far. It also has
songs that help to explain the point of this post, demonic sexual tendencies. I
used the songs, “In The Trunk” and “Horns”, to help my readers get a more
in-depth view of Tech’s evil ways. I also used this to show what Tech is
talking about in his lyrics, when he calls himself “evil”.
Source 3: My personal understanding of underground hip/hop.
My final
source for this post is my in-depth understanding of Tech N9ne’s music and
underground hip/hop as a whole. I know the difference between mainstream rap
and underground rap. I refer to this in my post; Tech’s promise to his fans. He
deliberately changed the name of a song just to keep it from going on the radio
and having fair-weather fans start following him. Aaron Yates has made his name
known around the world; he is the largest independent rapper in the world. Tech
makes it a point to try and gain true fans that will follow him through the
good and bad, which he has achieved. This is the underlying aspect of what I am
talking about in the post.
Post 7:
Source 1: The
Album, Absolute Power by Tech N9ne
I chose this
source because this album has multiple songs on it which help me to explain my
point that Tech is a drug addict. I used two songs from the album in this post,
“Trapped in a Psychos Body” and “T9X”. These songs were beneficial to my
writing because they aided my point that drug use affects the music made by Tech
N9ne. This album can show someone a lot about Tech N9ne and his chronic drug
use, suggested by his explicit music. The use of these drugs, like I mention
above, influence the way he views things and the way he lives his life.
Source 2: The
album, Welcome to Strangeland by Tech N9ne
This album has
yet again provided me with another controversial issue to mention as I continue
to talk about Tech N9ne. the song I mentioned was, “Retrogression”. This song
is a look inside the mind of Aaron Yates and explains how hard it is to be
‘clean’ and resist the urge to go back to using them. This song helped me to
elaborate on my point that Tech is clean now and is working hard to keep it
that way. I mention that drug use is influential to his music, in my post. Even
now that he is off drugs, he still writes songs that hit on the subject and
gains fans doing so.
Source 3: <
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecstasy_(drug)>
Even though I
previously knew about the drug and its effects, I still looked it up for more
information about it to use in my post. This is Tech N9ne’s favorite drug or
most commonly used drug. He mentions this in almost all songs and some he even
explains to his audience what they make him feel like and how hard it is to
stay away from them now. Knowledge about this drug is very helpful in
understanding Aaron Yates personality and the topics I hit on above. This is
the reason he feels as if he is always on top of the world and makes him the cocky
guy everyone has come to know and love.
Post 8:
Source 1: The song “Mama
Nem” by Tech N9ne
This song was my main inspiration in writing this post. It
describes his life and how he came to be where he is now, while also
exemplifying how large of an impact his mother was in his life and career. I
used a few of the stories he told in the song, in my post. This song is also a
great example of Aaron Yate’s character. It shows how much one person can
influence another’s life. Aaron Yate’s mother died young and this devastating
factor greatly influenced Tech N9nes music, taking him into a dark place within
himself in his lyrics.
Source 2: The song “Demons” by Tech N9ne
This song is not explicitly described in the post but the
mention of inner demons and its connection to the topic is present. This song
is one of Tech N9ne’s most popular songs. Within the lyrics of this song, Mr.
Yates speaks about his demons and how he refuses to let them control him. He
elaborates on how he has an evil side to him, which he must control; this is
the topic I address at the end of my post. This song is a direct influence to
my topic and helps to connect my personal experiences to Tech N9ne’s music.
My third source is the definition of inspiration, “A thing
or person that inspires”. This definition is the main topic of my entire post.
I incorporate this definition into every aspect of my post. I explain how Aaron
Yates was inspired at a young age to do what he loves and also how Tech N9ne’s
music has inspired me to live a better life and given me a different outlook on
life in general. It has taught me to control my inner demons and how to have complete
and utter control of my life. Inspiration is the topic of my post and it has
provided influence to my future posts in this blog.
